Launch of NRH Partnership with Boccia Ireland

Boccia Ireland and the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) have announced a joint collaborative initiative to further develop Boccia as a rehabilitation exercise in the new state-of-the-art Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy Department at the NRH.

Boccia Ireland is the governing body of the sport in Ireland, responsible for all aspects of Boccia and providing for all levels from participation to high performance. The partnership with the NRH will help to ensure the sport is accessible to as many people as possible. Boccia is unique in the fact that anyone can play despite of age, height, weight, or disability.
The NRH Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy Department actively collaborates with external sporting organisations to provide opportunities for people of all abilities to participate in sports that they may have been involved in prior to their admission to the NRH, or have been exposed to for the first time during their rehabilitation programme.
The NRH is delighted to work alongside Boccia Ireland in this collaboration to expand the opportunities for our patients to enjoy sport, including Boccia, as part of their rehabilitation programme, from first participating in the NRH, and then hopefully moving on to a continued engagement following completion of their rehabilitation programme.
